COMMUNITY CHORUS OF ELKIN
On Sunday, December 8th at 4pm and 7pm, the Community Chorus of Elkin will perform a fabulous selection of holiday music that will definitely put your heart in the mood for Christmas. This event is free to the public and we hope you can all come and enjoy the sounds of the season. If not, WIFM will play a recorded version of the concert at 8pm that day, for those who cannot make it due to illness or lack of transportation.

First United Methodist Church Preschool. Our goal is to provide a safe place for children to learn important social, emotional, physical, and language skills in a Christian environment. Our Mother's Morning Out Program is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. This is for children ages 9 months to 3 years old. We have qualified and experienced teachers for each age group.
Our Pre Kindergarten Class, for the 4 year old children, is either a 5 day a week program or a 3 day a week program. This depends on your family’s needs and desires. Your 4 year old can come all 5 days of the week from 9:00am to 1:00pm or you could choose for them to only come on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Christmas Celebration in Elkin:
Friday, Dec 6th: Light Up Night 6-8pm begins at The Liberty parking lot: Elkin HS band, Santa reads Twas the Night at 5:45 pm (he'll be down by Dave's Antique shop), tree lighting, dancing performances from local studios, bring a chair and watch the show or travel down the entire length of Main Street on horse drawn carriages to see Christmas decorations and shop (free) and dine at locations along Main Street. Elkin Big Band Music too, located at the Wells Fargo lot. Live music at Fiddles Pub and Brushy Mountain Winery on the east side of Main. Library offers kids crafts and puppet shows from 4-6pm. Fun from one end of Main to the other! Decorated windows, planters and shops open late with treats for the kids! Also...
Fri night/Sat afternoon, Dec 6 & 7: Open Air Art Market at the Foothills Arts Council. One block up from Royall's. Friday, Dec 6th- To help celebrate Elkin's Light-Up Night, Elkin Masonic Lodge (114 W Market St.) is offering a Pancake and Sausage Dinner on Friday, December 6th, from 4-7 pm. Tickets are $6 per person and available at the door. Proceeds help support Masonic charities such at the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford.
Sunday, Dec 8th: Elkin/Jonesville Christmas Parade 3pm - 5pm. This massive parade will definitely get the kids ready for the holiday spirit! Everything from live high school bands to floats tossing candy for kids. Starts in Jonesville, and comes to Elkin along downtown Main Street, ending at the high school. Don't miss it!
Sunday, Dec 8th: Christmas Chorus offers a unique and moving performance by the Elkin Community Chorus. Approximately 100 singers perform at 4pm and 7pm featuring music focusing on the true meaning of Christmas. Absolutely beautiful selections have been chosen you will be sure to enjoy. Free to public.
