The Grape Walk. Enjoy your afternoons walking and shopping along Elkin's Main Street, as you look for clues that lead you to various downtown stores. The clues are given to you, then you solve the clues to find the grapes, to enter for the monthly grand prize drawing! You could win $25 in "Downtown Bucks" to spend at local merchants. Cards can be picked up at participating merchants (with grape decal on their store front), the Chamber of Commerce, or Elkin Town Hall. Cards do not have to be completed the day you pick them up. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 13th for another trail work day. If everything progresses as we hope, this workday will be at the first bridge crossing near Elkin. If not it will be in the Grassy Creek area. If you are interested in participating please e-mail Bob email@example.com That way we can advise if there is a weather delay and what type of tools will be required. We will be "rough cutting" about 1/2 mile of beautiful trail along two creeks. This section of trail will be "bike/hike" only. We meet at the tasting room at the Grassy Creek Winery at 9:00 AM. Please bring loppers, small saws, gloves etc. If you are experienced, bring your chain saw and weed eaters. Throw in a pair of wire cutters if you have them as there are remains of a wire fence that will need to be removed.

Saturday, April 20, 9am. Storybook Character Breakfast Join us for a full breakfast and meet with beloved characters from your favorite storybooks. Children will have the opportunity to visit with the characters and take home a special memento. Tickets $10, children under one year old are free. First United Methodist Church Preschool. Our goal is to provide a safe place for children to learn important social, emotional, physical, and language skills in a Christian environment. Our Mother's Morning Out Program is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. This is for children ages 9 months to 3 years old. We have qualified and experienced teachers for each age group.
Our Pre Kindergarten Class, for the 4 year old children, is either a 5 day a week program or a 3 day a week program. This depends on your family’s needs and desires. Your 4 year old can come all 5 days of the week from 9:00am to 1:00pm or you could choose for them to only come on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. We do take a trip to the Elkin Public Library on Fridays to enjoy story time and make a craft.
