Harry's Place Hosts Special Reunion of The Long & Pardue Band during Memorial for Harry and Nancy Smith

For the first time in over 10 years the original Long & Pardue Band will get together for a special reunion show December 1st at Harry's Place in Elkin. The L&P Band performed coast to coast in the mid to late 90's with their own special brand of bluegrass music. This will be a special show you won't want to miss! Elkin Main Street Advisory Board Wins Award

 "Come and Discover Downtown Elkin" won the 2011 North Carolina Main Street Award for Best Downtown Branding and Image-Building Campaign and they are the recipient of the Award of Merit, which will be presented to them in January 2012 by the North Carolina Department of Commerce, which stated the award was "for your efforts in furthering the cause of downtown revitalization in your community".

The Jonesville History Center Opening

The Jonesville History Center will open Saturday, November 5, 10am - 6 pm and Sunday, November 6,  2 pm - 6 pm.  The Center will continue to open on weekends during November and December. An official opening will be held this Spring when Mineral Spring Park opens. Individuals or groups may arrange to tour the Center during weekdays by calling 835-0077.
