ROCK FACADE will be preserved

The famous Rock Facade, owned by the Town, was scheduled for demolition, but now the Town of Elkin will create a linear park out of their property and incorporate the facade as a part of the project.

Visit the location on W Main Street, and you'll see the approved plans for the new downtown park.  Project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2016!

Smith Phillips property to be developed into Trails & Heritage Visitor Center

Between Christmas and New Year’s holidays, work began on an Elkin downtown property where the former Smith Phillips lumber yard had been located.

Elkin town commissioners voted to approve monies to be spent towards the redevelopment of the property at 257 Standard St. during the 2015-16 fiscal year budgeting process.
