First mural in Elkin, by NC muralist Michael Brown is a hit!

Posted by Town of Elkin c/o Economic Development Dept on Friday, August 16, 2013 Under: Downtown Elkin

The first mural (seen here in progress) is of two historical landmarks that are no longer here in Elkin. One is of the Elkin train depot that used to be located on S Bridge Street next to the RR tracks (behind Twenty One & Main) and the other is of Hugh G Chatham Memorial Bridge that was torn down by the DOT in 2010.  Both are dearly missed, but the images of them bring back the fond memories we have of them. This mural is sponsored by Elkin Antiques and Collectibles Mall through the Main Street Advisory Board mural grants this year. Thank you for picking out this image for the residents to enjoy.
