The Main Street Advisory Board's mural on Twenty One & Main is now complete!! The Main Street Advisory Board, the Elkin TDA, Surry Wineries group, Chris Mahon of ACM Agency, L Payne, and Jeff and Erika (owners of the building) contributed to the costs to make this work!!  Also, Mr John Kennedy offered housing for the mural artist while he did the work, and Welborn Electric donated the lift for the artist to extend the clouds high on the wall. Thanks so much to everyone who contributed to the ...

Second Mural completed in Elkin, by muralist Michael Brown!

Mural 2 (of 4 proposed locations) was completed last week. This mural depicts businesses in Elkin that were a part of history and an important part of our past. Some of the images were added that had meaning to Chris Mahon, owner of the building, who participated in the Main Street Advisory Board mural grant program this year. For example, the "Best Little Town in NC" license plates were on everyone's car in Elkin, back in the year 1980 when Chris moved to Elkin. It held a fond memory for him...

Elkin area residents, Madeline and her father Jay Morphis, have a special project they just completed. Together, they have created Teddy's Adventures, a new children's book that they wrote and illustrated together. Living in the country provides lots of fun things to do on sunny days, but on rainy days, Madeline found she liked to draw.

Grassy Creek Vineyard hosts Graybyrds' video release!

On Januray 12th,  Grassy Creek Vineyard and Winery is hosting the Raven video release party for the Graybyrds and J. Martin Productions. The festivities will begin at 6:30 and last till 9:30. We will play a few tunes off the upcoming Raven cd/DVD double disc and show the much anticipated Raven video.The tasting room will be open with food and wine for sale. Come join us for the party. I think y'all will be shocked at how cool this video really is.
