Elkin Trails offer a fabulous walk filled with beautiful scenery

Elkin's trails are now open for enjoying walks along Big Elkin Creek. The Elkin Valley Trails Association has been working hard to get these trails open to the pubic. Last Friday, a new bridge was installed to carry hikers over Big Elkin Creek and extend the trail closer to their goal.  You can start at Elkin's Municipal Park and walk along this trail up to a gong which you can ring to sound to the world, you have conquered the trail.

Brushy Mountain Reopens redecorated and full of great space.

March 8th, Brushy Mountain Winery reopened with live music, delicious food and lots of curious customers anxious to see the newly created space.  Exposed brick walls with original art work from the early 1900's remains on newly exposed walls, along with cozy seating areas throughout, and a new color scheme with a modern flair. New businesses opening up in downtown Elkin!

Funk n Junk opened February 1st and is open on Fridays and Saturdays. It is located between the Chamber of Commerce and Chill on Main, right on Court St (hill). 

Another new antique shop is open on W Main Street. They are still getting items in and are about 1/2  way filled with furniture and other nik-naks. Vendors are still setting up, but they hope to be settled in by the end of the month.

The Mayberry's have sold their winery to Andy and Beth Duncan this month. Although we will miss seeing Ann and Matthew at the winery on Main Street, we are happy to hear there will be a new chapter in Brushy Mountain's story. Andy Duncan decided he was ready for a new adventure in his life and wanted to purchase a winery. Andy had a vineyard in Florida 30 years ago, and after much research, decided to come to Elkin to...

New owners of Elkin Creek Vineyard & Winery have arrived

Many of you might not know that Mark Greene, owner of Elkin Creek, has sold his winery this year to two wonderful couples. They have just moved here from the Las Vegas area to take over the winery with the same traditions and vision that Mark has had over the years.

Before and After in downtown Elkin

Do you remember how torn up our sidewalk was along N Bridge Street from the beautiful trees that were planted downtown years ago? Here is the BEFORE photo....
 

And here is the AFTER photo...I sure miss the trees, but this really looks so much nicer! Next comes new planters to add some of the greenery back to downtown...
