2017 Foothills Theatre's Dessert Theatre
This year's play is a comedy called "Dearly Beloved" Performances will be at First Baptist Church Elkin fellowship hall on Feb. 24, 25 and 26. Dessert served at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday with curtain at 7:30 pm; Sunday dessert at 2 with curtain at 2:30 p.m. Tickets $12 at the door and includes dessert, coffee, tea.
Gathering of Friends Annual Meeting
When: March 24th - 26th 2017
What: Join in the fun and explore Elkin like never before! Come to the Gathering of Friends event celebrating 40 years of the MST, which is now along Elkin's downtown Main Street where the event is being held. Dozens of events planned for this 3-day event offering numerous things to do on the trail and around the region and a fabulous way to learn about this fun group, which is open for membership! REI will be on hand for a mountain bike demo, keynote speakers, live music, dinner celebrations, and trail and town excursions make up this fun-filled weekend.
2017 Elkin Farmers Market opens!
Opens mid-April (the 15th) and is offered every Saturday morning from 9am-noon.
Located in the Elkin Town Hall parking lot, the event is fun and offers live music most weekends. Go to www.elkinfarmersmarket.com for full schedule.

2017 Habitat Hammer 5K Race/Walk and Fun Run
When: Saturday, April 8th. Fun Run at 7:30 am; 5K Race at 8:00 am. Starting and finishing at Elkin Municipal Park. Timing by Twin City Track Club.
Fund Raiser: Proceeds go to support the work of the Upper Yadkin Valley Habitat for Humanity. Medals awarded to top 3 finishers in each age group, prizes to top 3 men and women, and door prizes.
16th Annual Yadkin Valley Wine Festival
Date: Always the 3rd Saturday in May (May 20th, 2017)
Time: All afternoon (11am-6pm)
Location: Elkin Municipal Park
What to expect: Vendors, approximately 36 wineries and vineyards represented, food vendors, live music all day, shade trees (yes that is important!), fun for kids too. This is the best wine festival you'll ever experience! Tickets now on sale, go to http://www.yvwf.com/. Amazing event!
Tour de Vino cycling in the Yadkin Valley Wine Region AVA : Start the morning with a ride through wine country before the wine festival begins. Cost for Tour includes admission to the Wine Festival! Learn more at: http://yvtdv.com/ All rides begin at 8am.
2017 Cruise! Downtown Elkin
The Elkin cruise event is back -and bigger and better than ever. May to September, they are scheduled the 4th Saturday of every month, 4pm to 9pm.

May 27, June 24, July 22, August 26 , and October 28
September 23rd is not a cruise, but a car show that will be held during the Pumpkin Festival

KidsFest 2017 -

Elkin's 21st Annual Yadkin Valley Pumpkin Festival
When: Saturday, September 23, 9am-4pm, 2017
Where: Come to historic downtown Elkin's Main Street. Call the Chamber for more info at 336-526-1111.
What: Pumpkin weigh-off, craft and food vendors, kids fun area with bouncy houses and more; live music, car show (located at Crater Park) 11am to 5pm with live music from Backwater and DJ "Doctor T", quilt show at West end of Main St at the Episcopal Church from 9am to 4pm, farmers market open at the Elkin Town Hall parking lot 9am to 3pm, EVTA duck and turtle regatta at 5pm on Big Elkin Creek, Library hosts annual used book sale all day long.
Visitors can enjoy a shuttle from local hotels to: Big Elkin BeerFest event 2 blocks away from 3pm to 9pm at Elkin's Municipal Park with live music, over 12 dozen booths with local craft beers from around North Carolina, food trucks, walking trails and more! More info to come!

Foothills Arts Council's hosts Habitat for Humanity's Art for Homes 2016
Saturday, November 5 - Art for Homes auction will be in our garden beginning at 6:30pm. Come join us for this great live auction, food and wine, all for a good cause. Local artists have taken objects from the Home Shoppe and re-fashioned them. You may find something cool to bid on, and it will be a one-of-a-kind item!
Annual Winter Wine Passports
(winter through spring each year)
Passports go on sale every October at any participating Surry County winery. These "passports" make fabulous gifts for your friends and family. Passports provide a ticket to experience 10 area wineries & craft breweries from Nov thru March each year...and include wine & beer tastings, weekends featuring live music, wine and food pairings, and discounts to area restaurants and cabins.

2017 Annual Open Air Art Market at The Liberty (indoors)
When: November 25 - Dec 23rd.
Time : Thursday - Sat noon till 6pm.
This year, the Open Air Art market will relocate from its previous location at the FAC to The Liberty's Coley Hall. This event will then become a 3-day event from Friday to Sunday with vendors set up all weekend long Nov 31- Dec 2.
The arts council will also feature holiday gifts indoors for holiday shoppers from NOV 25 to DEC 23rd at the arts council for holiday shoppers looking for unique hand made items.

2017 Elkin/Jonesville Christmas Parade
When: Sunday, December 10th (2nd Sunday in Dec)
Time: 3:00 pm - 5pm
Begins in Jonesville and continues over the bridge into Elkin along the entire length of Main Street towards the library, and ending at the Elkin High School. Over 100 groups participated last year - this was one fantastic parade! Don't miss it! Fun for the entire family.

57th Annual Community Chorus of Elkin
When: Sunday, December 3rd, 2017
Time: Two shows, 4pm and 7pm
This year the Community Chorus will be performing at the Elkin First Methodist Church on Hawthorn St. Singers from communities all over the area practice for 2 months to offer you a beautiful holiday show to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. Free event. Everyone welcome! Donations gladly accepted.
Presented by Rhythm on Main dance studio on E Main St, this holiday classic will be performed in Elkin on December 17th!
